November 2008 - Disney Trip - Part 2

Good Evening!! Ready to continue our Disney Journey!!

After the delicious food at Chef Mickey's, we decided to head on down to Downtown Disney. Who am I kidding? There was no deciding!! It was in the PLAN!! Yes, I plan our days at Disney. I study crowd levels and best park days til I am dreaming about in at night to come up with the most perfect trip plan there could be. Yes, I admit. I a little obsessed with planning on my Disney trips!! But in my own defense there is so much to do and plan. You have fireworks, parades, dining reservation, special event times, crowd levels, EMH...You got to plan!!

Ok...Ok... On with the story....So we jumped on a wonderful Disney bus and headed for Downtown Disney. The bus service at the Contemporary is very good!! There is plenty of room for waiting and the buses come fairly quickly. When we go, we park the car and never get in it again til it is time to head home.

So while here, I wanted to pick up some Christmas gifts and check out all the stores. We were able to find bath goodie presents from Basin for my sister in law and niece. We also checked out T-Rex which was brand new when we were there. Here are some of the sights from Downtown Disney.

We also went to Goofy's Candy Store for some yummy snacks!!! If you have not been there, add it to your list. It is a must do.

Later that night we headed over to Hollywood Studios so we could see The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights!! They were amazing and it even SNOWED!! Yes, it SNOWED in Orlando. This is another must see if you have never done this.

After looking at all the beautiful lights, we decided to check out some rides and see what we could get done before the park closed.

The next morning we were able to get into Magic Kingdom before the park opened because Jamie had reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It is great getting to the park so early. It is like having the entire park to yourself.

Now once Jamie was transformed into a Princess, we decided to check out the rides. Look at the above picture, the park was practically empty.

After Winnie the Pooh and the Teacups, we headed over to ToonTown to ride the Barnstormer and see Mickey & Minnies's houses. I so miss ToonTown. I just loved this area.

It was a little chilly outside so we jumped on the monorail to go get our heavier sweatshirts at the resort. It is so nice staying at a monorail resort. We had lunch at Crystal Palace. It is a character meal with Winnie Pooh and friends.

Lunch was very yummy. I really want to try breakfast here one day. After lunch we headed back to the hotel to rest some before Mickey's Very merry Christmas Party that night. It is a special event and this was our first time to attend. They have a special parade and firework show. There is free hot chocolate and cookies. It was alot of fun and I highly recommend it.

The next day we explored the grounds of the Contemporary Resort, Wilderness Lodge and The Grand Floridian. Here are some of the things we found on our adventure.

The first thing we found was a Hidden Mickey in the carpet near the elevator on our floor. If you don't know what a Hidden Mickey is, let me explain. Throughout the parks and resorts there are hidden mickey heads in all sorts of places such as the paintings, the flooring, bedspreads, wall paper, etc. They are alot of fun to try and find. There is a book (possible books) out there to help you find them all.

From the windows at the Contemporary resort, you can see the top of the Wilderness Lodge. This is a zoomed in picture.

These are from the grounds behind the Contemporary Resort near their pool area.

So we walked down to the marina to get on a boat so we could travel to our next destination. Any idea where we were going????

I am stopping here tonight. So you have to come back to learn where the Disney boat is taking us and what we will find on our exploration.

Thanks for dropping by!!

Until next time, Have a Magical Day!!
