2nd Trip - September 2007

So as said in the previous post, it took us about 6 months to really start thinking about another Disney trip. I had done ALOT of research and learned a ton of information. At this point, my family started teasing me about my Disney obsession. This trip was around my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary so I had two surprises planned.

We always drive by car because it is cheaper than flying and we really don't mind the drive. It gets us in the mood. We do stop about 10 hrs the first day so we only have 3 hrs left the next day. We stop in Valdosta, GA so that has become our normal stop.

On this trip we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott near the mall in Valdosta. We get the room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. It is a nice room and we stay here most of the time on our trip down.

                                      
This trip we took the plunge and stayed at a Disney Deluxe Resort. We stayed at the Polynesian Resort and let me tell you that we were not disappointed at all. In fact, the Polynesian is my ALL TIME FAVORITE of all the Disney Resorts that we have stayed at. What's not to love....beautiful tropical gardens, the monorail, wonderful food, and a large room!!

The day we arrive at Disney, is my hubby's birthday and that little surprise that I told you about was delivered to our room right on time. You see, select Disney Resorts with bakeries will bake specialty cakes for you to be delivered to your resort room. It was so YUMMY and he was so surprised. Another thing that Disney does to make your stay so special is buttons. They have Happy Birthday Buttons for people to wear!!

Our first night there was something new for us. We were going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for the very first time! If you have never been, it is a special event party on select nights in September and October. There are special dance parties, trick or treat stations, rare characters, special fireworks and parade. It is AMAZING!!

Magic Kingdom was open til Midnight on the night of the party! We had a great time.

The next day we went to Epcot and little did I know that it was the 25th Anniversary!! We got buttons to remember the day!! It was also Food & Wine Festival. This is a special event during the fall season where there are all kinds of booths with different countries where you can purchase food. They also have special shows. It is a great time to visit Epcot. Each of the Worlds in Epcot feature different shows, bands, restaurants, and shops for that country. It is a great way to try new foods and learn some things about different places.

We ended up eating in China at the Nine Dragons. It was so good.

The next day we went to Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom is a beautiful park with lots of nature and of course animals but it has a ton of fun rides too and even some thrill rides so don't think of it as just a zoo!!

Now remember those buttons I was telling you about, well today was our anniversary so we got Happy Anniversary buttons to wear!!

The second surprise was waiting on our room when we got back to the resort this day.

We did visit Blizzard Beach on this trip and it is a huge waterpark. I didn't take any pictures of this park. I will have to make sure that I work on that in the future.

Well on this second trip, we decided not to go to Hollywood Studios. Our thinking was there was not anything there for us. We were wrong but you will have to keep reading to find out when we make it back to Hollywood Studios as it is known now.
